*Responsive Call to Worship    (Psalm 118:24-29)

   This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

            Save us, we pray, O LORD! O LORD, we pray, give us success!

   Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We bless You from the house of the LORD.

            The LORD is God, and He has made His light to shine upon us.

            Bind the festal sacrifice with cords, up to the horns of the altar!

   You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God; I will extol you.

            Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!

*Hymn #300                                     “All Glory, Laud and Honor”

*Prayer of Adoration

*Profession of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed

   I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

   and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

   born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried;

   He descended into hell;

   The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven,

   and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

   from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead;

   I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

   the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins;

   the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Gospel Lesson                           Luke 19:28-44

   And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. When he drew near to Beth

   phage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples, saying, "Go into the village

   in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring

   it here. If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' you shall say this: 'The Lord has need of it.'" So those

   who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them.

            And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?"

            And they said, "The Lord has need of it."

   And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. And as he rode along,

   they spread their cloaks on the road. As he was drawing near-already on the way down the Mount of Olives-

   the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works

   that they had seen, saying,

            "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!

            Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

   And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." He answered, "I tell

   you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out." And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept

   over it, saying, "Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now

   they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade

   around you and surround you and hem you in on every side and tear you down to the ground, you and your

   children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time

   of your visitation."

Affirmation of Holy Scripture - Psalm 119:103

   How sweet are Your words to our taste, sweeter than honey to our mouths!

Sermon         “Jesus Must Reign”         Pastor John Uhl

Confessing Our Need of Christ Together and Individually

   O humble King of Glory, we confess that our praise of Your majesty

   has too often been fickle and faint.

   The zeal of worshipers long ago rebukes our apathy and indifference.

   Forgive us our zeal for making our name’s great, robbing You of your due in honor and glory.

   Pardon us for resisting Your kingship. For our treason, You died.

   For our restoration, You rose.

   Now transform us by the Holy Spirit

   so that we may become Your loyal and devoted servants. We pray this in Your blessed name.

Assurance of the Lord’s Pardon   (Colossians 1:21,22)

   And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,

            He has now reconciled in His body of flesh by His death,

            in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before Him,

The Bread & The Cup

New Guests - We are so glad to have the privilege of worshiping the Lord with you. Please fill out one of our “Guest Cards” found on the table in the Narthex. This will help us in responding to any of your questions or needs. You can place them in the offertory plate or hand it to our pastor.

The Lord’s Supper - We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday at Grace Covenant. All who trust in Jesus and Him alone for their salvation are invited to partake. Our custom is to distribute the elements processing forward by rows. After all are served, we then take the elements together. If you have a non-communing child, please bring them forward with you so Pastor John may pray for them. If you believe your child is ready to take Communion, please ask our Pastor about the process.

Cry Room - This special room is located in the back of the sanctuary should you have need. It is well appointed with the option to clearly hear the service.

Ingram Extra - Join us after service in the Fellowship Hall for refreshment. If you would like, Pastor John will lead a small discussion at the couches in the FH. Our theme topic this Spring is Personal Eschatology.
