Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

* Call to Worship    (adapted from Psalm 19 )    (Read responsively)

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, by them is Your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

* Affirmation of Faith        “The Apostle’s Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.  AMEN.

* Prayer of Invocation

* Hymn of Adoration      “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”       Red Book # 43

Invitation to Confession

Admitting Our Sin to God

God of all, we know if it were not for the fact of human sin You would not have had to send Your Son to redeem us. We admit we have sinned in countless ways both knowingly and unknowingly, and our hearts and consciences have become hardened. Forgive us, O Father, revive us and make us again sensitive to the demands of righteousness. We cry to You in the name of our crucified and risen Savior, Jesus Christ.

 (time of silent, personal confession)  AMEN

Assurance of Pardon

Please sign the blue attendance pad and join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and light refreshments following the worship service.

FIRST SUNDAY - Please remember to bring your contributions for local outreach organizations next Sunday, February 3rd and place them in the baskets located under the old pew in the Narthex.

NEXT SUNDAY - We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper. In the Presbyterian Church (EPC), all who sincerely trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone, for the forgiveness of sin, are invited to partake, including baptized children with parental permission.

LITURGISTS NEEDED – Please use the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the hall by the water fountain to volunteer for one or more weeks. See sheet for details.

Great occasions for serving God come seldom,

But little ones surround us daily.
