The First Sunday in Lent            March 10, 2019

Responsive Call to Worship    (Psalm 24:3-6)

Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.

He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

*Hymn #344                                                       “Grace Greater than All our Sin”

*Prayer of Adoration

*Profession of Faith                              (from the Children’s Catechism)

Why are you to glorify God?

Because he made me and takes care of me.

Is there more than one true God?

No. There is only one true God.

In how many Persons does this one God exist?

In three Persons.

Name these three Persons.

The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Corporate Prayer of Confession with Individual Prayers of Confession

Almighty God, Your Word declares that against You, You only, have we sinned and done what is evil in Your sight.

We confess that we have forsaken the Creators fountain of living waters for the temporal pleasures of this world.

We have robbed You of Your glory by seeking to make our names great. We have clung to our idols instead of delighting in Your promises.

We have despised the Son and have refused to believe the Gospel. O Lord, have mercy on us. Make us eager to forsake our sin,

and give to us broken and contrite hearts that You will accept. Open our eyes to see Your beauty and abundant grace so that we may find rest in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

In Your Holy name we pray. Amen.

Unison Assurance of Divine Pardon  (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Responding with Praise                     Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning; is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen! Amen!

Bringing God’s Tithes and Offerings

*Gratitude & Thanksgiving

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow, Praise Him, all creatures here below. Praise Him above, ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Affirmation of Holy Scripture (from Psalm 119:17-18)

Deal bountifully with Your servants, that we may live and keep Your Word.

All: Open Our eyes, that we may behold wondrous things out of Your Law.

Ingram Extra - Please join us immediately after service for some refreshment in the Fellowship Hall. This is an informal time to get to know each other better. During this short-time, we usually hear something practical from Pastor John and are able to share our prayer requests together.

The Lord’s Supper - We celebrate the Lords Supper each Sunday at Ingram. All who sincerely trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone, for the forgiveness of sin, are invited to partake. Our custom is to distribute the elements processing forward by rows. When everyone is served, the we will take the elements together. For children not yet taking communion, please bring them forward with you so Pastor John may pray for them. If you believe your child is ready to take Communion, please ask Pastor John about the process.
