   Pastor: The LORD reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!

   People: The LORD is great in Zion; He is exalted over all the peoples.

   Pastor: Let them praise your great and awesome name! Holy is He!

*Lesson from the Gospel                         The Gospel of Luke 9:28-35

   Pastor: Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and James and went up on the

   mountain to pray.

   People: And as he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became dazzling white.

   Pastor: And behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his

   departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. Now Peter and those who were with him were

   heavy with sleep, but when they became fully awake they saw his glory and the two men who stood with

   People: And as the men were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good that we are here. Let us

    make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah"-not knowing what he said.

   Pastor: As he was saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they

   entered the cloud.

   People: And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!"

*Hymn #308                         “There is a Redeemer”

Corporate Prayer of Confession with Individual Prayers of Confession

   Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the hope of all nations.

   You sacrificed Yourself to restore the nations of the world unto fellowship with You.

   We acknowledge how often we think primarily of our own nation and our own people.

   We are suspicious of those not like us and are reluctant to sacrifice ourselves for the benefit of others beyond our

   borders. We have not interceded for other nations as a kingdom of priests or acted to serve them in love. We

   confess these sins to You and ask You to remake us into the likeness of Christ.

Responsive Assurance of Divine Pardon  (Isaiah 53:5)

   Pastor: He was wounded for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities;

   People: Upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His stripes we are healed.

Responding with Praise                     Gloria Patri

   Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning;

   is now and ever shall be. World without end, Amen. Amen.

Affirmation of Holy Scripture (from Psalm 119:14-16)

   People: We will meditate on Your precepts and fix our eyes on Your ways.

   All: We will delight in Your statutes; we will not forget Your word.

Prayer of Blessing & The Lord’s Prayer

Sermon                     “Living through the Tribulation: Satan’s Focus & Aim”             Pastor John W. Uhl

*Hymn #431                      “Shine, Jesus, Shine”

*The Apostle’s Creed

            I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

            And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord;

            who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary,

            suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

            He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;

            He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

            From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

            I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints;

            For the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

First-Time Guests We are so glad you are here to Worship the Lord with us today. If you will, please fill out an Information Card found in the back, so we can get to know you a little. These can be placed in the offering plate or handed to a Greeter or Pastor John.

Ingram Extra - Please join us immediately after service for some refreshment in the Fellowship Hall. This is a wonderful informal time to get to know each other better. During this short-time, we usually hear something practical from Pastor John and are able to share our prayer requests together.

The Lord’s Supper - We celebrate the Lord’s Supper each Sunday at Ingram. All who sincerely trust in Jesus Christ and Him alone, for the forgiveness of sin, are invited to partake, including baptized children with parental permission. Our custom is to distribute the elements processing forward by rows. When everyone is served, then we will take the elements together. For children not yet taking communion, please bring them forward with you so the pastor may pray for them. If you believe your child is ready to take Communion, please ask Pastor John about the process.

Church Web-site - Please access our website for information about the ministries of Ingram Presbyterian and for access to past sermons.
